Updated Points Leaders after yesterday's practice. Remember, for a guaranteed Sectional spot and a shot at Angler of the Year, you WANT to be in that top 4! Still anybody's race, especially when we have our first tournaments, but always be striving for that top spot!

Connor Harrold - 0 With the recent finding that Lake Argyle is roughly 7-9ft BELOW normal pool, where it will likely be for some time, Coach S is opening up changes in location for some of our Pre-Sectional tournaments. Any suggestions will be entertained for the following tournament dates:
Sunday, March 3 Saturday, March 16 The tourney Saturday, February 23 will still be at Spring Lake (Macomb) Please contact Coach S or post to this thread with any suggestions for good fishing waters fairly close to Cuba. Points are now updated in the dropdown menu to the left and are 100% current. Some movement around on the leaderboard!
Also, sign up to fish Lake Argyle next Sunday by the end of school tomorrow, or you won't stand a shot at BIG tournament points! There is now a sign-up sheet outside Coach Schweizer's classroom door for the February 10 tournament at Lake Argyle (12-4). Students wishing to fish this tournament need to sign up BY Monday at the absolute latest. Academic elegibility also applies.
For the many students who were unable to attend this morning's meeting, here is what was discussed: 1. If you ordered a shirt and hat, please see Mr. Schweizer immediately to pay for and pick up your order. It would be nice to get everything taken care of before winter break. - New members will need to order theirs in January. 2. The next Bass Pro Shops Angler's Arena event is on Tuesday, January 8 @ 7:00pm and is worth 3 points toward AoY. These really are great events, and attendance at them is definitely worth the drive. 3. There is now available a (tentative) handbook for the team with information about schedules for practices and tournaments, required gear to be a part of the club, how the points system works, and other pertinent information. 4. We are signed up to work FIVE concessions. Volunteers are NEEDED as these concession nights help us raise money necessary for awards, to cover any dock fees, etc. Those dates and the events they are for are as follows: Thursday, December 20 - 6:00pm - HS Girls BBall Thursday, January 3 - 6:00pm - JH Volleyball Monday, January 7 - 6:00pm - JH Volleyball Friday, January 18 - 6:00pm - HS Boys BBall Tuesday, February 5 - 6:00pm - HS Boys BBall 5. During 1st and 2nd hours next Thursday and Friday, any team members who DO NOT have a semester exam to take are welcome to come "hang out" in Mr. Schweizer's classroom. Bring a pole if you want, there will be targets set up to cast and pitch and flip at. There will also be fishing DVDs/videos being played. If there are any questions about items that were discussed, or about anything at all, please get a hold of Mr. Schweizer. Thank you.
PLEASE be sure to sign up for a time slot on Sunday, October 28 to go fish Spring Lake (Macomb)! This is a great chance to get a LOT of us on the water in rotation, and a great chance to show Mr. S what you can do as an angler so he can start planning for the Sectional team. If you are only on a boat for one time slot, you are more than welcome to bank fish or just hang out on-shore during the other one.
Captains will be - Schweizer and Tucker Currently signed up: 7:00-11:00 1. Corey Brinson 2. Hunter Hahn 11:00a-3:00p 1. Ivory Hungerford 2. Anthony Carpenter We NEED at least TWO more per time slot to make this an effective day of bass angling! Also, there is a good chance the WIU Bass Fishing Team may be out there wanting to fish with/against us at some point this day. SIGN UP ASAP!!!!!! If anybody has ideas for fundraisers to raise money for Sectional/State jerseys/uniforms, to pay if we ever fish where there are ramp fees, or to go toward the Angler of the Year award (race begins in January), please see Mr. Schweizer.
